Wordplay Writer’s Workshop
The writer’s world can be an intimidating place for a beginner. It is filled with pitfalls with no obvious answers. Too much information can be daunting for a beginner.

Over time I have learned to walk on my own, learning the facts as I went along. I have done various things to truly establish myself in this world.
My first role back in 2012 was to become a reviewer and blogger and after eight years, I have connected with authors across the globe in every genre. From romance to horror, non-fiction, memoirs, motivational, and poetry book.
To me, it was important to get to know all the relevant genres which I had done through the 804 reviews this far. To connect and learn. This helped me greatly.

According to Goodreads, my stats read like this:

#48 best reviewers in South Africa

#4 top readers in South Africa

#41 top reviewers in South Africa.

As a blogger, visits differ between 20 – 1000 views per post, depending on the post. Over time they had more than doubled since authors still use these links in the promotions or blogs.
Other than self-publishing 4 books, I have written articles and motivational pieces as a content writer. I have judged stories, I had been a project coordinator and many more to enable and help.

In this year I have done a few courses in writing:
1) Low content writing course to create a passive income from this. More about it at a later stage.
2) Writing with flair – to write in a simple, evocative, and elegant way.
3) Life coaching course. This is truly a much-needed element for an author. There are many areas in our lives where we struggle with fear of rejection or our self-worth, which holds us back.
4) I joined a masterclass with Jerry Jenkins’s Writer’s Guild where I learned different ways of the craft. Just to be among fellow writers gave me such a boost.
5) I am busy with a Beginner’s class in English to really understand the tenses. (This is my one shortcoming and one I promised myself to learn, in Afrikaans and English, since I write in both languages.)

As an author, you should always learn. No author can say they know everything. You are the voice in your genre. If it is poetry, motivational or fiction it is your platform where you connect with readers, and you owe it to yourself to be the best. Growth is essential.

My goal with this group is to impart my knowledge to you. It will be done in this group and through the workshops; it will be a quarterly event. These workshops will be done online. The first is planned for Saturday, 28 March 2020, at R250 for three-hour classes. The time will be between 10 am and 1pm, South African time. The Workplace platform will be used for this.
a) To create a safe environment where you can grow
b) To touch on all the different issues to become an author
c) To help you to grow in spirit, mind, and body and become unstoppable.

I would love to hear from you.
