Scripture: 1 Peter 3:9: “Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.”

Are your life an example of Jesus?

Do you act on impulse, like a Peter of old?

Do you think you deserve to take revenge?

If the answer is yes to each question, then you are failing the scripture and you will not inherit a blessing. It is that simple.

Self-entitlement runs wildly in our nation. We think it entitle us to many things without changing our ways or putting in the effort to act righteously. When we stand on our rights we become poorer and poorer and we wonder why.

Jesus was entitled to rule on this earth, but through His life He showed power differently. He showed us to walk in authority without the title of the worldly king position. He knew who he was/is in God.

In the garden, when Peter came to his ‘defence’ He had the authority to call down a legion of warrior angels and the story would have ended differently.

But, because of His gentle way, He hung on the Cross and inherited much more than the devil planned. He floored Satan totally.

He is the King of this world but has given us authority so that we can receive our inheritance.

We need to follow that example of meekness and be a blessing.

Heavenly Father, I deserve nothing accept your grace and mercy. Father, you know my needs and my situation therefor give me the wisdom to do it correctly so that I, too, can inherit the earth and be a blessing.  Help me see the angels fighting on my behalf. Give me the insight and wisdom to be strong in this situation I face. Put a guard to my tongue so that I won’t act on impulse but out of love just as Your Son, Jesus Christ, had showed. Amen.
